Becoming a Member

Join the family of Wheaten owners and their friends! Members receive three Club bulletins a year packed with Wheaten information; health items, training and grooming tips, plus historical information along with owners' tales and stories about their Wheaten experiences.

Find out about Club events and come along to meet other Wheatens (and their owners) and share Wheaten experiences. And, if you need to ask a question – or share a problem, your breeder, the network of Area Representatives or the SCWT Club committee will all do their best to help you!

The Club shop has items ranging from jewellery to tea-towels and Wheaten mugs to Car Stickers. There is something for everyone! Grooming and training aids are always very popular as are the range of Breed reference books.

We do not take our responsibilities for the breed lightly. Health remains high on the agenda, and we maintain a watching brief – issuing guidance to breeders when needed.

A recent innovation at our Wheaten Days are 'surgeries' where new owners can discuss concerns and obtain guidance from someone experienced in the breed. This compliments the Club's programme of Educational Seminars and grooming workshops.

In the show ring
Stacks of help and advice is always nearby for those with ambitions in the show ring. Many successful show people first started at a Wheaten Day Breed Match, and others will enjoy Club sponsorship of Wheaten Classes at selected local Open Shows.

Fact sheets are available to new owners advising on matters such as diet, training – even Wheaten-safe plants for your garden! And most owners find our very popular double-length, advice-packed SCWT Care and Grooming video, an essential aid to help them care for their new arrivals.

We also have a very lively and useful discussion forum that provides help and advice for members and also prospective owners. If you have any questions about owning and caring for a Wheaten, this is your first stop.

What happens next?
Upon receipt of your membership application and cheque (UK currently £11.00 single or £13.00 joint), we'll send you a copy of a Wheaten Bulletin and our Code of Ethics.

All members are required to abide by these and the regulations of the SCWT Club of GB and the Kennel Club. Any Member joining after 31st October is deemed to be a full member for the following year. Naturally, each new membership application is subject to committee approval.
